OFAC Sanctions 10 Individuals and One Entity Supporting DPRK IT-Worker Schemes

OFAC imposed blocking sanctions against 10 individuals listed in Russia, including one also listed in Laos, and one entity listed in North Korea and Russia for supporting DPRK IT-worker revenue schemes. The designations under E.O. 13687 and E.O. 13722 target financial intermediaries, delegation leaders, IT workers and the First Financial and Technical Development Center. Treasury said the networks use fraudulent identities and cryptocurrency transfers to generate and move revenue for North Korea’s weapons programs. Property and interests in property within U.S. jurisdiction are blocked, and U.S. persons generally may not transact with the targets without authorization or an exemption.
