European Commission Sets Common Formats for Beneficial Ownership Submissions

The European Commission adopted Implementing Regulation (EU) 2026/2354, setting common formats for beneficial ownership information submitted to central registers under the EU anti-money-laundering framework. It covers beneficial owners, legal entities and arrangements, and nominees, including ownership and control structures, and establishes minimum requirements for accepting submissions. Adopted October 16 and published October 22, 2026, the regulation enters into force on the twentieth day after publication and applies from July 10, 2027.
