FCDO Updates Three ISIL and Al-Qaida Sanctions Listings

The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) varied the existing UK sanctions listings of Mounir El Motassadeq (AQD0254), Noor Wali Mehsud (AQD0362) and Tehrik-e Taliban Pakistan (AQD0079) on October 16 under the ISIL (Da’esh) and Al-Qaida sanctions regime. The notice updates identifying and background information while retaining all three existing designations. All three remain subject to asset freezes and arms embargoes, and both individuals also remain subject to travel bans. The UK changes follow the UN sanctions committee’s October 15 amendments to the same three entries.
