OFAC imposed blocking sanctions against four individuals and 11 entities (all in Mexico) for supporting Cartel del Noreste through businesses involved in horse racing, construction, trucking, and the oil and gas sector. Treasury highlighted the use of legitimate commercial activities to launder proceeds and finance the cartel’s operations.
